Mississippi Hop Frog Class, ages 5-7
First level comprehensive theory program for beginners

Curriculum from Michiko Yurko’s Music Mind Games
Weekly hands-on work with rhythms in duple and triple meter
Treble and bass cleft notation
Note and rhythm dictation
Student performance at each class
Every musical concept is reinforced with games, which are then played at home with family or friends
Minuet Class, ages 7-9
Second level comprehensive theory program
Format

Continuing work on all concepts in previous Mississippi Hop Frog Class
Expanded rhythmic and note dictation
Circle of fifths and key signatures are introduced
By the end of the class every child will know all of the key signatures and be able to…
…tell the number of sharps or flats in any key
…name all of the sharps or flats in order in any key
Often the parents are able to achieve this also!
